.Rich’s Reflections:  In today’s Gospel, Jesus asked the opinion of the chief priests and the elders of the people, “Who did his father’s will?”  One son said no to working in the vineyard, but then he changed his mind and went.  The other son said yes, but did not go.  Do we give “lip service” to Jesus by saying yes to God’s will, but then doing nothing?  Mary was a daughter of God who said “Yes” to God, and then lived out her “Yes” every day of her life.  Actions speak louder than words.  The message is clear in today’s Gospel; what pleases God is not our obedient words, but our obedient actions.  Many people say “Yes” in their vows when they get married, but their inaction throughout marriage in showing unselfish love to their spouse commonly results in over 50% of marriages leading to divorce.  Pregnancy is a “Yes” to unselfish love of a child that unfortunately leads to abortion in some cases.  Say “Yes” to God, but let your “Yes” really mean “Yes” by living your life each day in obedient faith.
