12 Sep Loose Change (Acts 3:7) by Pastor Steve Selfridge
Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong. ~ Acts 3:7

Reflection: Many of us are talented. We can do stuff. We can make charts complete, we can balance the financial statement, we can fix the car, we can mop the floor, we can fill the responsibility that is placed in front of us. But there are times when we really can’t do all that much and we have to rely upon God. Here Peter knew that he couldn’t help this man who was unable to walk. Actually what the guy wanted Peter didn’t have (or want to give). He wanted him to have so much more. Many of us look at simple things like finances around us when Christ is wanting us so much more. I am thankful this man trusted in Peter on that day. And then he ran! This man was crippled from birth—we are unsure how old he was, but can you imagine the shock, amazement and joy that he had. He thought he was getting loose change and he received so much more. Is there something in your life where you have felt crippled for a long time? Reach to Christ. He will lift you up and do you see what happens? You will leap for joy! And then others will be filled with amazement and worship the God you worship.
.
Challenge: Are you merely looking for loose change, when Jesus is telling you to rise up and walk? What is in front of you that you need to take Christ’s hand and get up and walk? You can do it. Each step of your run this a.m., commit “that” thing that is in front of you today.
