They are no longer two but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate. ~ Mk 10:8-9

Reflection: In a very real sense, the culture of death has only been able to arise because the culture of love – of marital love – has been in a state of decay.  Our culture’s understanding of marriage has been cheapened, and the sacrificial nature of sexuality and parenthood.  Where the life-long, sexual faithfulness of husband and wife is not prized, the sexual act loses its whole reason for being.  As a result, pre-marital sex flourishes and “unplanned” and “accidental” pregnancies occur –and the environment becomes ripe for abortion.
