14 Aug Love is a Decision (Ez 12:1-3) by Valerie Johnson
“The word of the LORD came to me: Son of man, you live in the midst of a rebellious house; they have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.” ~ Ez 12:1-3 (full readings)
.
Valerie’s Reflections: The prophet Ezekiel is told that the nation of Israel is “a rebellious house”. In Psalms, we are told again that they rebelled against God. Jesus tells us in the Gospel that we need to always continue to forgive. God continues to love us and forgive us, even when we are rebellious. The culture of death would have us believe that love is just a feeling. If you’re not feeling it, then forget it. If someone is inconvenient, then get rid of them. The truth is that love is a decision and we are called to love.

Faith Quote: “The most deadly poison of our times is indifference. And this happens, although the praise of God should know no limits. Let us strive, therefore, to praise Him to the greatest extent of our powers.” ~ St. Maximilian Kolbe
