Reflection:   Paul and Silas are cited for “disturbing our city” and “advocating customs that are not lawful for us Romans to adopt or practice.”  Paul had invoked the name of Jesus to exorcise a spirit from a slave who was being unjustly used by her owners for profit.  The public condemned them and had them jailed.  Upon being freed, Paul and Silas did not seek revenge on the jailer, but instead shared their faith and baptized his whole family.  This passage has analogies to those engaged in the Pro-Life movement who are condemned for showing Jesus’ love for all human life.  Our “REMEMBER The Unborn – Jer 1:5” message is not welcomed by those who work to uphold the misguided laws that allow for the destruction of human life.  Thankfully, the Holy Spirit allows us to love those who condemn us.

Challenge:  Identify those in your life who would benefit from understanding the sanctity of life.  Pray for their conversion and for an opportunity to discuss life issues.
