20 Feb Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself (James 2:8-9) by Mary Ellen Hoffman
“If, however, you fulfill the royal law, according to the Scriptures, ‘Thou shalt love they neighbor as thyself,’ you do well. But if you show partiality towards persons, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.” ~ James 2:8-9 (full readings)
Mary’s Reflections: Upon reading these two verses from St. James, I was reminded that we are ALL sinners, and therefore can judge no one. It’s good for us to remember when we are praying on the sidewalk of Planned Parenthood that the women contemplating an abortion or those who have had one are still a child of God. They are born in His image and likeness just as we are. We cannot assume we are better than they are as we do not know their hearts as our most merciful Father does.

Faith Quote: “The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.” ~ Mother Teresa
