“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” ~ Ps 34:3 (full readings)

Jimmy’s Reflections:  As a Father I have tried to lead my family to magnify the Lord with me. To extol His name together. To plant and water the seeds that each member of my family will, when I am gone, exalt His name forever in their lives.  Fathers: the spiritual heads of the household.  Maybe you have great memories of your father.  We could jog around the track sharing about the great things our fathers have done.  Or perhaps you haven’t had the best experience with your father.  We could drag around the track ranting about where each of our fathers fell short.  Maybe you saw your father in unpleasant circumstances.  In God’s infinite plan He allowed you to have the physical father you have.  It is our call to bless our fathers; it is the fourth commandment too.  This commandment comes a blessing:  that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord your God gives you.  It’s Friday:  Father’s Day is coming!
