“Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever had ears ought to hear.” ~ Matthew 13: 7-9 (full readings)
Whitney’s Reflections: The Lord used and spoke parables to the people because they are easily relatable. They are for us a convection of heart, a warning and a lesson to use in our lives. In today’s Gospel, Christ instructs us to be cautious not to get caught in thorns, sin, in our lives. Even though we are sinners, each day we can be made new through confession; the Lord has conquered death. Christ also tells us that in order to survive we must be rooted in faith. We must do as He asks of us. For us to engage in His Commandments, is like planting a seed in a pile of well fertilized soil. The soil will protect us, and it will support us in being strong as we grow. When we are firmly rooted in Christ, we may then help others and show them Christ by our actions. We are able to defend the weak and uphold the dignity of Life. We must strive in His truth and love all to help build the body of Christ in Holy Mother Church.

Faith Challenge: In prayer ask the Lord to give you grace to turn away from temptation, so as to avoid sin daily. Sometime this week pray outside an abortion mill…say a rosary for all unborn children today.
Feast Day: St Joseph of Barsabas was considered as a replacement for Judas after the Resurrection.
Faith Quote: “Preach the gospel always and when necessary use words.” ~ St. Francis of Assisi
Through Christ Our Lord,
* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion reality (images)…#1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize:Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Matt 28:19.
