My-yoke
“Jesus said to the crowds: ‘Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.’

Mary’s Reflections:  Today’s reading displays for us what seems to be a paradox, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest yourselves.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”  If you look at the image of the yoke you see that it is meant for two to carry.  I believe that Christ asks us to take up His yoke and that He will carry it along side us.  He gives us the grace which fuels us to carry our burdens, which are His burdens too.  Our burdens and sufferings, when united to Christ can be beautiful gifts when offered for others.  Christ also tells us that, “He gives strength to the fainting; for the weak he makes vigor abound…They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength.”  Let us unite our burdens to Christ and offer them for those men and women that may be pondering abortion because the burden of their pregnancy is heavy, let us pray that they will find hope in the Lord and He will renew their strength.
