28 Apr Never Alone (Ps 94:14) by Karen Nolkemper
You, Lord, will not forsake your people, nor abandon your very own. ~ Psalm 94:14
.
Reflection: Whether you’ve been “fighting for life” for 4 days or 40 years, you’re never alone! You never have been and you never will be. God’s got your back. Period. Protecting and defending life is like running a long marathon, not a short sprint. Along the journey, the evil one will use weapons of fear, abandonment, disappointment and exhaustion to discourage you and distract you from the finish line. The secret to not feeling abandoned during the “race for life” is to finally realize, once-and-for-all, it’s not about you or me or any of us. It’s all about God and fulfilling His plan according to His will in His time. Once we fully embrace that truth, there is no need to be afraid or feel abandoned. All we need to do is “show up and serve.” The rest is up to God. Blessed Mother Teresa said, “God doesn’t require us to be successful, only faithful.” So remember, we are all called to be “warriors for life.” Some of us will serve on the front lines as sidewalk counselors and pro-life legislators, while others will be deployed behind the scenes as parish coordinators, youth ministers and chastity educators. Now, go forth and courageously build a Culture of Life. If you “humble thyself in the name of the Lord”, He will reveal to you what He has uniquely called and equipped you to do!

Challenge: Serve with the peace of Christ in your heart and remember, “Life will be victorious.”
