22 Jan Our Calling (Mk 3:13-15) by Grant Fenske
“He now went up onto the mountain and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to proclaim the message, with power to drive out devils.” ~ Mk 3:13-15 (full readings)

Grant’s Reflections: Does our Lord still summon us today? Who is really called to go out and proclaim His word? Does evil really exist? These are some very important questions that we all need to address. Our Lord definitely still calls each one of us to a closer union with Him that starts with prayer. We are all called to proclaim His word in a way we feel called to do. We must speak His truth with love and compassion for all those we meet. Evil does exist in our world. It doesn’t mean there are a bunch of devils running around, but there are those who are lost, and have made choices to commit acts of evil. We must look at these people with love and compassion, and pray for the salvation of their souls as we are all created in Gods image and are His children. As we battle for one of the most important fights in our journey here on earth, Life and the unborn, remember we are all called as children of God to Pray, proclaim His good news, and stand up to evil as Jesus did with love and compassion. Remember, if He is with us who can be against us!
