16 Apr Peace of Heart (Is 50:4) by Molly McDonald
“The Lord GOD has given me a well-trained tongue, that I might know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them.” ~ Is 50:4 (full readings)
Molly’s Reflections: In today’s first reading, I am reminded of Ash Wednesday and kicking off the A-Cross America Relay in NYC, the abortion capital of the US. The night before we had gotten word that there was going to be pro-choicers present at our prayer rally in opposition of “forced motherhood.” At first I was worried but after saying a prayer to our dear Mother for guidance, I had a peace come over me and realized, when we are on the right side of the fight, LIFE, our Lord will make everything work. As I was running and approaching the PP where we were having our prayer service, I could see a little group of pro-choicers with signs waiting for us. I had a peace about me and knew all was going to be O.K.! As we began our prayer service, we were confronted with yelling and chanting but we did not falter with our prayer and within 1 to 2 minutes there was complete silence from across the street as we continued on with our prayers, intentions and songs! Let us remember in times that we might be confronted that we need to stay our path, Our Lord Jesus will give us the words and peace of heart to overcome evil.
