“While the two men walked on farther toward Sodom, the LORD remained standing before Abraham.”  ~ Gen 18:22 (full readings)

Rich’s Reflections:  In today’s reading, the Lord was about to punish the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for their grave sins; however, He allowed Abraham an opportunity to intercede.  Abraham asked the Lord to save the cities and the Lord listened to him.  We should not underestimate the power of intercession.  Many Pro-Lifers pray at Planned Parenthoods all over the country to prevent women from committing the grave sin of abortion.  We want our Lord to intercede to save those from the sufferings associated with abortion (emotional deadening, loneliness, rage, insomnia, nightmares, suicidal feelings, etc.).  Take every opportunity the Lord gives you to intercede with prayer.  We need to pray to end abortion at the abortion clinics in our state, our country, and throughout the world.  Countless testimonies have been recorded of babies saved at abortion mills due to the presence of people praying.  One woman reported to a pro-life counselor months later that she had approached an abortion mill in Phoenix, Arizona, determined to have an abortion.  She was in the second trimester of her pregnancy.  As she crossed the sidewalk, approaching the clinic, she felt her baby kick within her womb.  She looked up at the same moment to witness an older woman praying up and down the sidewalk.  At that moment, the woman knew what she was about to do was wrong.  She left the clinic and went home.  She chose to keep and love the precious life God had given to her.
