11 Jun Pray for Conversion (Acts 11:24) by Dr. Rich Reich
“He himself was a good man filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. Thereby large numbers were added to the Lord.” ~ Acts 11:24 (full readings)
.
Rich’s Reflections: The saint of today is St. Barnabas. St. Barnabas was extremely fruitful for God’s Kingdom. This makes him one of the greatest saints, for we are known by our fruits (Lk 6:44). St. Barnabas bore fruit in risking his life to accept St. Paul (Acts 9:27). Paul eventually became an apostle, the writer of many books of the New Testament, and one of the first Christian missionaries in addition to Barnabas. Before his conversion, Paul, then known as Saul, was a zealous Pharisee who intensely persecuted the followers of Jesus. He even participated in the stoning of St. Stephen (Acts 7:57-8:3). Abortionists today are like Saul; persecuting the unborn. As pro-lifers, we need to be like St. Barnabas who was very fruitful by accepting Saul in his conversion to Christianity. We need to pray for abortionists in their conversion to pro-life and the end of their persecution of the unborn. In doing so, we will be extremely fruitful for God’s Kingdom.

Faith Quote: “The church is not a theological classroom. It is a conversion, confession, repentance, reconciliation, forgiveness and sanctification center, where flawed people place their faith in Christ, gather to know and love him better, and learn to love others as he designed.” ~ Paul David Tripp
