“For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” ~ (Col 1:9) (full readings)

Mary Ellen’s Reflections:  Today we celebrate the feast of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.  She was called by God to serve the indigent and destitute of India.  Just like her, we have been called to serve the most defenseless–the unborn.  On Saturday, September 7, an historic celebration of the closing of Planned Parenthood takes place in Bryan/College Station, Texas.  40 Days for Life began here in 2004 and Abby Johnson had a conversation of heart and left her position at this facility in 2009.  This is why we pray unceasingly.  In our prayers, we ask the Holy Spirit to enter the hearts of all considering abortion and those employees of the clinics for a change of heart.  The fall campaign for 40 Days for Life begins September 25 and continues through November 3.
* Mary Ellen Hoffman has been married to Steve for over 32 years, is mother to Andy and Stephanie, and most recently, mother-in-law to Megan and Nick!  She is also the pro-life director at St. Mary Church in Belleville, IL.  Her greatest joy is visiting family at the nursing home.
