Pro-Life Control (Eph 4:16) by Craig LeQuatte

“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts morning-After-pillgrow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love” ~ Eph 4:16 (full readings)

Craig’s Reflections:  Today’s reading reminds me how Abortion clinics and morning after pills seem to have a common thread.  Morning after pills work by:  1) preventing ovulation, fertilization or implantation by sending a hormonal lie to signal that the body is already pregnant, 2) by creating a hostile environment for the fertilized egg to implant, and 3) by making the egg impenetrable.  These mechanisms of action remind me of how the abortion industry works:  1) they prevent actions against itself by fabricating a lie…woman’s rights are greater than the baby’s, 2) pro-lifers are “kooks” and you are insensitive to side with them, and 3) it is illegal and immoral to inhibit clients from accessing their clinic.  These actions keep people from becoming active pro-life members.  They work the system to prevent even the smallest group of counselors from sticking around their clinics taking the life from the movement before it becomes big enough to survive.  Sometimes you see them get really tough on pro-lifers.  Still, pregnancy occurs with these morning-after pills in 1-10% of women which gives us hope that the pro-life movement will overcome the pro-choice obstacles, become pregnant with new life and when this life comes to full term it will bring an end to the abortion industry.
