“Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions.” ~ Psalm 51:3 (full readings)
Steve’s Reflections: This past Monday, LIFE Runners teammates and I took part in the annual March for Life on Capitol Hill, bringing to Light the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Nellie Gray, the founder of March for Life, implored us at the first annual Law of Life Summit and again at the mini-Rally (on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday) that as long as we accept the unjust law of Roe v. Wade, we have the blood of 53 million innocents on our hands. Each day we wake up another 3,000 die because of this unjust law. Sunday marked the 39th anniversary of that unjust law, Roe v Wade…Bloody Sunday. St. Louis Archbishop Carlson implored 1,600 youth that Monday morning to offer up the sacrifices of their pilgrimage for the unborn – “Are you hungry? Tired?”, he asked. “Good!” he exclaimed…all the more redemptive sacrifice for the unborn. We are on a pilgrimage and our country needs the mercy of God for we have 53 million transgressions growing by over 3,000 each day. May God in His merciful love and abundant compassion blot out our transgressions and end abortion in 2012.

Faith Quote: “The promotion of the culture of life should be the highest priority in our societies…If the right to life is not defended decisively as a condition for all other rights of the person, all other references to human rights remain deceitful and illusory.” ~ Blessed Pope John Paul II
Through Christ Our Lord,
Steve
Rom 12:2 .
* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will and His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (and family): Abortion reality (images)…#1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 and Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers and re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Matt 28:19.

Posted at 2:18 PM, 27 January 2012Thank you, Steve, for that hopeful and challenging devotion. I read from a reputable source that as of the end of 2011 there had been a little over 53.9 million abortions since ’73. With 3,000 innocents being slaughtered per day, our nation will have reached 54 million atrocities by the end of this month.
Echoing the words from your reflection rooted in Psalm 51, I prayerfully reiterate, “May God in His merciful love and abundant compassion blot out our transgressions and end abortion in 2012.” Amen. YBIC — Tim Lorang
