Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves. ~ Mt 7:15

Reflection: In this age of the culture of death, women in a crisis pregnancy situation are lured by the “false prophets” who come to them in sheep’s clothing. Almost half of the abortions in America are chosen by young women of college age. These women are often ashamed and frightened and feel there is no alternative for them but to abort their baby, especially if they feel they have no emotional or financial support. The “false prophets,” such as the well-funded Planned Parenthood, offer the false promise of an easy, “gentle” way of ending their pregnancy when in fact, women are left feeling empty and guilty and often have emotional scars that last a lifetime. Jer 23:16 states, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Listen not to the works of prophets who fill you with emptiness. Visions of their own fancy they speak, not from the mouth of the Lord.” Helping women become aware of the support they can receive in a crisis pregnancy is a necessity in order to advance the pro-life movement. One such support group is Love Life that reaches out to college-age women who find themselves pregnant, scared and confused. Love Life teaches pro-life values, helps unwed mothers choose life, and gives them options for help that is available. Together we can work toward promoting the culture of life by protecting women from the “ravenous wolves” and helping them choose life for their babies.

Challenge: Take the time this week, this month or this summer to learn more about other pro-life ministries that directly support women in a crisis pregnancy situation, especially in your area.
