05 Oct Rejected! (Luke 10:16) by Rosemary Bernth
“Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.'” ~ Luke 10:16 (full readings)
Rosemary’s Reflections: No one really likes feeling rejected, especially when you’re trying to help others. It’s not easy to see your friend list on Facebook dwindle when people find out your pro-life. Nor is it easy to talk to women about the dangers of abortion and have them continue on their way. Jesus was also rejected, but He didn’t let that stop His ministry. If He had, where would we be now? In today’s society, the ones that feel the greatest rejection are the unborn–they have been denied the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Their dignity has not only been rejected by stangers, but by their own families. But we must keep spreading the Word of Truth, even if it falls upon deaf ears. You never know when you might finally break through.

Faith Challenge: “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed.” ~Matt 18:15-16 Every LIFE Group Devotion starts with the phrase “Welcome God now…” Do you know of any people who need a nudge to welcome God into their lives? Maybe forward them a devotion as a starting step. If they send it to the trash bin, you can at least say you tried.
Feast Day: St. Maria Faustina Kowalska
Faith Quote: “I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to wake me up and get going, rather than retreat.” ~Sylvester Stallone
* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion (images) is #1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/sacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
