jesushealsleper-150x150““Even now,” declares the Lord“return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments.  Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.” ~ Joel 2:12-13

Reflection:  Today’s verse is a reminder about the forgiving nature of the Lord.  While the ultimate goal of the Pro-Life movement is to convince families to bring their children into the world with love, we acknowledge the reality that some will not choose life or have not chosen life in the past.  These families are just as much in need of our encouragement.  It is our duty to help them heal their wounds and reconcile themselves with God.  We have a merciful God who wants every person to come to Him, even after grave sin.  Once healed, post-abortion families often become strong advocates of Pro-Life, bringing a unique perspective that reaches a part of society that is difficult to reach any other way.

Challenge:  Find out about a healing ministry such as Rachel’s Vineyard that you can use as a resource when you are presented with the opportunity to help a family in need.

Inspiration:  “LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” – Psalm 30:2
