“Then Jesus said to them, ‘I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?'”  ~ Lk 6:9 (full readings)

Rich’s Reflections:    In the Gospel today, the scribes and Pharisees wanted to catch Jesus in the act of breaking the Sabbath ritual so they might accuse Him of breaking God’s law.  They were angry with Jesus because they put their own thoughts of what was right and wrong above God.  They were trapped in their own legalism because they did not understand or see God’s purpose.  God wants us to save life, not destroy it.  Pro-abortionists become angry at the Pro-Life movement, because they place their own thoughts of what is right and wrong above God.  They create their own unjust laws (legalism) so that they can justify their lifestyles.  Jesus points to God’s intentions when He stated that God wants us to do good and to save life rather than to do evil or to destroy life.  Does your view of right and wrong align with God?
