09 Sep Run to your Savior (Jn 10:11) by Dr. John Sturm
I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. ~ Jn 10:11
.
Reflection: The Parable of the Good Shepherd poses a dilemma for us who are serving as the hired-hand and shepherd. When the wolves are approaching the flock, the hired-hand’s instinct is to Fear and Flee, or to Love the Sheep and Trust in God that His Power will help us scatter the wolves instead. In confronting the lies of abortion, we know that Truth will overcome all attacks, so run without fear as you run toward your Savior and scatter the wolves. As St. Francis de Sales said, “As long as life lasts, run after your Savior. But run ardently and swiftly, for what will it avail you to follow Him if you are not so happy as to reach Him?” Let us run then so as to win (1 Cor 9:24)! May we strive to remain in union with God in all ways and always.
Challenge: The National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children is tomorrow, Sept 10th. Let’s wear our LIFE Runners jerseys to “REMEMBER The Unborn – Jer 1:5”. About 3,000 children are aborted every day in America alone, which is about the same number of Americans who lost their lives during the Sept 11th attacks.

Inspiration: “I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.” ~ Eric Liddell (1924 gold medalist, missionary to China)
