run with endurance
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” ~ Heb 12:1 (full readings)
.
Finau’s Reflections:  Today we learn that as runners, that we need to live a holy and transformed life in Christ to maintain our endurance in the race.  In Christ we can do all things, in making a stand for Christ in a world that is infested with worldly compromise, pleasing man and unholiness.  As runners, our cause to defend the unborn and support families to make right decisions should never be shaken.  Also, in our verse today, we are grateful to our fellow Christian family who urge us on to complete our race.  They motivate us, cry with us and cheer us on to complete the race, even in the deepest, darkest trials.  We are so grateful.  This brings to reality the assurance that when we are weak, in Christ we are strong.  Our daily run requires preparation of body, mind, emotions, and spirit through God’s word; constant prayers, fasting, keeping focus and abiding in Christ every step of the way.  The beauty of a runner is, through thick and thin, the mind is set on our finished race, completed with the loving handshake and warm embrace of Jesus Christ.  Therefore, let us as believers be mindful of how special our Christian family in in our daily progress.  For in our different gifts and talents, we compliment and build each other up in grace, endurance and love, never giving up until the end.

Faith Challenge:   Our race is never an individual journey.  As believers our oneness in Christ will bring clarity of our harmony with each other to finish our race.
