While he was at table in [Matthew’s] house, many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him. Mark 2:15

Devotion snippets: “Jesus often reached out to the sick, the poor and those held in contempt. He gave assistance and encouragement to them and demonstrated how people should treat each other. We too can offer a gift to uplift the life of a hurting person.” by Fr. James McKarns

Mother Theresa was an example in today’s devotional as a person who was nonjudgmental and reached out to the sick, the poor and those held in contempt. I read a book about Mother Theresa last year called “A Simple Path”. In this book it revealed that the secret to her commitment to serve others her entire life was to see God in them. Mother Theresa said, “How can you love God whom you do not see, if you do not love your neighbor whom you see, whom you touch, with whom you live?” She also said, “To be able to love one another, we must pray much, for prayer gives a clean heart and a clean heart can see God in our neighbor.”Let’s pray that God will open the eyes of our hearts so that we may see Christ in others and reach out to them. Amen.Through Christ our Lord,RichRomans 12:12
