Seeking Wholeness (Est C:24) by Shane Kapler

“…turn our mourning into gladness and our sorrows into wholeness..” ~ Esther C:24 (full readings)God-sized hole
.
Shane’s Reflections:  Faced with the extermination of her people, Queen Esther was “seized with mortal anguish.”  But Esther did not let herself be overwhelmed by the threat.  She went to the Lord on behalf of her people and interceded with Him to give her persuasive words that would  influence the king.  Esther understood that God was the true sovereign, to whom even all those in power must answer, and so “[s]he lay prostrate upon the ground, together with her handmaids, from morning until evening,” begging the Lord to intervene.

Each of you reading this, when thinking of the threat faced by our unborn brothers and sisters, have shared Esther’s anguish. We likewise need to embrace Esther’s “battle plan” – to fall on our faces before the Lord, asking him to give us persuasive words, and to dispose the hearts of those in authority to be influenced by them.

Faith Challenge:   Throughout this Lent, have recourse to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, as a means of asking the Lord to pour out the grace of conversion upon all those officials who can impede and reverse abortion policies in this country: our President, governors, members of Congress, Supreme Court and federal judges. Pray that those who bear the name “Christian” among them will recognize the truth and act upon it.   “Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world … For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.”

Faith Quote: “For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”  ~ Eph 6:12.
