Shane’s Reflections: As I observed our nation this past year, I had to admit to myself that we may not recover from our moral disintegration.  I still hope that we will repent; but in the course of two thousand years Christians have lived through the fall of not just nations but civilizations.  Ours is not immune.  It is the Lord that we have been promised, not earthly security.

Faith Challenge:  Steel your heart, should the worst come to pass.  Go before the Lord and ask Him for the grace to meet each challenge that comes with knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and decisive action.  Ask him specifically for the faithfulness of the martyrs.  Few of us are called to witness with our blood, but each of us needs that level of faithfulness.  The grace to endure martyrdom is supernatural and can only be obtained by assiduous prayer.
