10 Jul Simple as Doves (Mt 10:16) by Angi Castle
“Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.” ~ Mt 10: 16 (full readings)
.
Angi’s Reflections: Our Lord warned His disciples then, as he warns us today, to prepare for persecution. In the Pro-Life movement, evil is real. It is sneaky and deceptive. Lies are told to mothers that their baby is a burden, and that with an abortion this inconvenience can be forgotten. Abortion is never forgotten. It is an evil that rips and tears at the heart of mothers and fathers. We are called to protect innocent lives in the womb. We are called to educate and speak truth about what abortion is and what it does to families. We will be persecuted and hated. We must stand together fearlessly against the evils of abortion. We must do so firmly and lovingly. I have friends that have been spit upon and even had rocks thrown at them as they stood “simple as doves” in front of Planned Parenthood. I have seen women drive away from Planned Parenthood crying after having an abortion. The lies bring a death sentence. The lies bring emptiness and great pain to a woman. Our time to shrewdly organize, to stand fearless and to reach out compassionately as simple doves – is now. The wolves are many in the world, but with the Lord, and with one another, our flock resists Satan and his crown jewel (abortion).

Faith Quote: “Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
