“We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand the things freely given us by God.”

Father James Dean’s Reflections:   Jesus is the way and the truth and the life (John 14:6).  He sent us the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, “which the world cannot accept” (John 15:17).  We know that the ultimate battle is between light and darkness, good and evil, God and Satan.  We also know who the Victor is (and will be), the only question is, who will reign with Him in the end!  Thankfully, by the grace of God, we have received the beautiful and salvific Gospel of Life.  The understanding of the dignity and meaning of human life has shone upon us.  But we know that it was not given to us just for us.  To whom much is given, much is expected and required!  We know well the suffering, sorry and regret of those who have rejected the Holy Spirit and embraced the spirit of the world. Let us fearlessly live in the truth that is Jesus Christ, the Lord of Life, and do our best to bring His love and truth to a world that is oppressed by the culture of death and headed toward destruction.
