18 Mar Stirred Up (Dt 13:44-46) by Dr. Rich Reich
Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors.
“The Lord hear her prayer. As she was being led to execution, God stirred up the holy spirit of a young boy named Daniel, and he cried aloud: ‘I am innocent of this woman’s blood.'” ~ Dt 13:44-46 (full readings)
Rich’s Reflections: In the Old Testament reading today, the corrupt law (elders and judges of the people) were going to execute an innocent life until the Holy Spirit stirred up a young boy named Daniel to take action. Without Daniel speaking out against the unjust law, the innocent life would have been put to death. Daniel heard the Holy Spirit stirring in his heart and heeded God’s command: “Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die. Don’t try to disclaim responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it” (Proverbs 24:11-12). As Christians, we are called today to speak out against the unjust law that legalizes the killing of innocent unborn children. Don’t stand back and let them die. Open yourself to the stirring of the Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray that You stir up the Holy Spirit in the hearts of those who are considering abortion, those who support the right to abortion, and those who stand idly by and do nothing to rescue the innocent unborn; that they may take action and rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death. Amen. * Dr. Rich Reich is the co-founder of the LIFE Group Devotions and the National LIFE Runners Team. He is married to Erica and lives in Satellite Beach, FL. Full bio.
