26 Dec Team Survey (5 Q’s by 6 Jan) thank you!
Merry second day of Christ-mas, LIFE Runners Team! – please answer the 5 questions on our Team Survey, by Jan 6th. This survey is very important for compiling our 2013 team impact and setting our 2014 goals. This anonymous survey (name optional) is for compiling LIFE Runners teamwork regarding time and treasure given to local and national Pro-Life beneficiaries in 2013. We raised over $57,000 for our 2013 national beneficiaries (Alpha, Care Net, Vitae) but would like to also compile our team impact for all local and national Pro-Life beneficiaries. Please Complete Team Survey – thank you!
Our 2013 national fall race, Crazy Horse half/full Marathon, was cancelled because of Winter Storm Atlas. However, the long term Pro-Life good was certainly greater from the the “make up races” across the country and the blizzard weekend team-building (see Recap). God works in mysterious ways. However, the loss of the Crazy Horse race did have one downside. We were unable to make a soft ask for financial support to help keep the LIFE Runners Team “running.” We waited until the last week of the year for this public ask, to ensure all your local and national Pro-Life beneficiaries were considered first.
The LIFE Runners leaders and support team are unpaid volunteers with full-time jobs and full-time families. When the team grew from 17 runners three years ago, to 500 runners/ walkers/ cheerers last year, to over 1,800 this year (in 46 states and 11 countries); the costs moved from hundreds of dollars to thousands of dollars. In 2013, our team had legal costs for getting tax exempt status (IRS scandal), domain name purchase, website maintenance, Relay signup software, Creed cards, new gear, advertising for Triple Crown (March for Life 5K run/walk, A-Cross America Relay, Fall marathon), and all the other things we did to save babies, help mothers/ fathers/ families, and change culture. Check out Press Coverage about our Team’s awesome Pro-Life impact (Heb 12:1-2).
Up until October 2012, the LIFE Runners leadership covered all costs with their personal funds and a memorial gift from the estate of Joe Castle. Fourteen months ago in St. Louis, we asked for your help to cover 2013 season costs and you answered – thank you. Our 2014 season is filled with thousands of opportunities to protect, heal, and celebrate Life. Please consider helping us cover 2014 season costs with a tax-exempt donation (www.liferunners.org/donate) – thanks for your life-saving teamwork!
