The Accused Unborn (Acts 25:16) by Tess Allman

baby“I answered them that it was not Roman practice to hand over an accused person before he has faced his accusers and had the opportunity to defend himself against their charge.” ~ Acts 26:16 (full readings)

Tess’ Reflection:  “…the opportunity to defend himself…”  In today’s first reading, we hear more of St. Paul’s story of being held captive.  How sad that these days so many wombs are places where the unborn are held as ‘captives’ and are given absolutely NO opportunity to defend themselves before being killed.  Thankfully, there are more and more abortion survivors who have been so brave and have made it a point to share their story.  Thank God for these people!  As you are out running and walking for life, contemplating your mission as a LIFE Runner, remember that the Lord is bringing into our midst people who have survived this holocaust.  Thank Our Lord for these courageous witnesses; thank Him for the people who helped them have a chance for life; and pray for their constant courage and protection.

Faith Quote:  “America you are beautiful…and blessed… The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless.  If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then America, defend life.” ~ Saint John Paul II
