“The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth.”
~ Luke 1:26 (full readings)
Jimmy’s Reflections:  Angels bring up many thoughts and memories in our lives.  Perhaps you learned at a young age to pray to your guardian angel to keep you safe when you went to bed.  “It’s a Wonderful Life” showed Mr. Bailey needing the help of Clarence the angel to see another side of what life would be like.  TV and music have, and still today, feature angels in some of their subject lines.  Or if you are from Saint Louis, you remember a pro baseball player with angelic skills who now plays for the Angels.  Angels perform many roles as described in the Bible and in many of our Church traditions.  Gabriel serves as a messenger from God to Mary that she will bear a son and name Him Jesus.  The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth.  Some LIFE Runners are being sent from God (according to elevation charts) to a township in Iowa called Keg Creek (just a few miles north of Glenwood); a community in South Dakota called Central Mellette (a little bit east of  the city of White River); and a county in Minnesota called Big Stone (just south of Clinton).  Whether you are sent to run today, fulfill your duty to your employer, pick up living room toys for the 15th time today, or open up the school textbooks after a nice Spring Break, God wants your heart to receive the message He needs to share with you.
* Jimmy is married to Peggy and has 6 children.  He works as a Project Manager for a telecommunications company.  He is involved with his family, Daughters of St. Paul ministry, and is an avid fan of Contemporary Christian Music..

Faith Challenge:   Just as George Bailey needed the prayers of friends and family to help him to make it, let us pray for those people who will encounter our fellow LIFE Runners signed up to run in South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota today.  And whether it is our fellow LIFE Runner, or Gabriel, or Clarence, may these people accept the message that Christ wants them to receive.
