The Way, the Truth, the Life (John 14:6) by Rosemary Bernth

04 May The Way, the Truth, the Life (John 14:6) by Rosemary Bernth

Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion (FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). Leaders. Guest Authors. LIFE Minute radio.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ~ John 14:6 (full readings)

Rosemary’s Reflections: This Gospel verse remided me of a song I sang in high school during Communion, “We Are One Body.” One of the refrains is the phrase “I am the Way, the Truth, the Life.” Another refrain includes an unborn baby, although forgotten by others, not unloved or forsaken by Our Lord. As Christians, we are Christ’s hands and feet, leading others to the Father. In a society that refuses to hear the cries of the unborn, we are called to be the mouth of Christ speaking the truth of the abortion industry, the feet of Christ leading couples down the road of parenthood or adoption, and the hands that cradle these little ones through life. It is Christ who can offer hope and peace–not Planned Parenthood’s lies to gain more business, not a government preying on our religious freedoms, and not the media that glorifies sex for pleasure without responsibility. If we want to be united with the Father in Heaven, we must become like Christ. We lead our neighbors to the foot of the cross, where Christ died so that we may live. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Faith Quote: “Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus.” ~Mother Teresa

Through Christ Our Lord,

* Pray/Fast: Prayer connects us with God’s will & His miracles, changing us & helping others. Fast from things that take your eyes off Jesus. Those who pray together stay together, and close to God!
* Save Unborn (& family): Abortion (images) is #1 death cause (22% pregnancies). Prov 24:11 & Jer 1:5. “A great poverty that a child must die that you might live as you wish.” Mother Teresa.
* Evangelize: Make room for unbelievers & re-evangelization of self, by way of prayer (relationship) and following Christ’s example of love (service/spassage/?searchacrifice/mercy). Mt 28:19.
