13 Jun Thy Will Be Done (Mt 6:9-10) by Jeff Grabosky
This is how you are to pray: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. ~ Mt 6:9-10
.
Reflection: We have all prayed the Lord’s Prayer countless times, but even to this day, the Our Father will show me something new. Something that struck me recently when I slowed down and focused on the words was that we are praying for God’s will to be carried out on Earth. If we are truly involved in the prayer being a conversation with God, then we should always be listening to God in how we can follow His instructions on what we can do to carry out His holy will. There is a culture of death in the world we now live that has been brought about by much evil. However, each and every one of us was created by God in love to be a light to this world. We all have a unique set of gifts that is meant to be used in a certain way to glorify God. In using our God-given gifts, we can change this world into a place that values the precious gift of life. Pray today for the wisdom to learn and the fortitude to carry out the will of the Father.
.
Challenge: Spend time slowly praying the Our Father and listen to how God is speaking to you through it.
