01 Nov [First Wed!] All Saints’ Day (Rv 7:14) by Kevin McNicholas
These are the ones who have survived the time of great distress; they have washed their robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb. ~ Rv 7:14
.
Reflection: Anybody think maybe we are in the time of great distress right now? Revelation doesn’t specify how long that is going to take, but I would say we are pretty much there! Today is All Saints’ Day, and a very special Holy Day in the Church, where we remember all the special Friends of God who are in Heaven praying for us and interceding for our needs. These Saints whose intercession we ask are those who give us the example of sanctity, of washing their robes and [making] them white in the Blood of the Lamb. Sort of a paradox, because washing a white robe in blood would make it red, but cleansing one’s soul in Christ’s Blood can only make it sparkling white again. Each of us has a path to sanctity. God places people, events, and situations in our lives for growing closer to Him. The goal of growing ever closer to Him is one that we strive towards here on earth, and pray that we realize one day in Heaven.
