18 Dec To EVERYTHING There is a Season (Ecc 3:1) by Pastor Rick Foreman
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” ~ Ecc 3:1 (full readings)
Pastor Rick’s Reflections: A.W. Tozer once said, “When you kill time, remember that it has no resurrection. So many people in today’s society are living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.” Even Benjamin Franklin stated, “Most people die at 25 but are not buried until 75.” Yet as Christians, we’ve already died to ourselves in order to live for Him and take the message of life to others. As noted in Ecclesiastes 3, there is a time for every matter or purpose under heaven. As LIFE Runners, that time is to not allow today’s complacency to become tomorrow’s captivity. We don’t need more time. We need to use the time we already have differently. We have time for what we choose to invest our time in. 2 Peter 1:3 tells us, “God has given us everything we need to accomplish all that he wants us to do, including enough time.” In order to maximize that time, we need to stop allowing the good things from becoming the enemy of the best things. We may have to start saying no to good things, so we’ll be able to say yes to the best things. How do we change that focus? 1. Create a life/purpose statement (Mine is to add value to others by influencing them to connect with their passions, purpose and God). 2. Give everyone a standing ovation every day. Galations 6:10 tells us to “be mindful to be a blessing.” 3. Number our days daily. Take nothing for granted. Joshua 3:5 tells us to “Consecrate ourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among us.”

Faith Challenge: Implement the following three actions as a daily habit: 1.Be intentional towards expressing gratefulness. 2. Intentionally focus time on the activities that add value to the kingdom & others. 3. Praise God constantly! Ask these four questions daily: 1.Whose life am I going to brighten today? 2. What are three things I’m most grateful for today? 3. What value am I going to create today? 4. How much joy can I create for others today?
