“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.” ~ Mt 7:24-25 (full readings)

Pastor Steve’s Reflections: Recently in my home town we had a blizzard of the century. We are used to snow. It is not uncommon and we receive plenty over the winter. However this blizzard was a little different. Races were cancelled (the LIFE Runners national race at Crazy Horse). Power lines were down all over. Trees fell rapidly. Tree branches snapped. Cattle wandered during the storm and many died. Schools were closed for 3 days. No churches met on Sunday morning. Everyone in this area was affected for many days. Storms come. Some are more devastating than others. These storms can be physical, emotional and spiritual and they can be long, laborious and challenging. As people stand up for the life of the unborn there can be ridicule and harassment. As we stand for God in these days, it can be a struggle to hold on….but we can. The wise person builds his house on the Lord. When the storms come, they can be endured if we are set solidly on the rock. May you know today that your rock is Christ and that He is guiding your every step. Trust solidly in this Rock.
