elderly2Welcome God now with this LIFE Runners Devotion (FB) provided by Team Leaders and Guest Authors.
.
“Thus says the Lord GOD: Cry out full-throated and unsparingly, lift up your voice like a trumpet blast; Tell my people their wickedness, and the house of Jacob their sins.” ~ Is 58:1 (full readings)
.
Ed’s Reflections: I have been caring for the elderly and the aged for over 34 years in my profession and have worked to give them dignity and respect as they pass from this life to the next.  At what point will the courts and our government decide that they no longer have the right to be called a Person and thus it will become legal to dispose of them in a “humanitarian way”.  In my own situation, having stage 4 cancer, at what point will the courts and our government dictate that it is time to cut off health care?  They now have fully taken over control of the health care system and they may decide that the seriously sick and handicapped are no are longer Persons as they do not contribute to the common good of society.  Where does it stop?
* Ed Heigl cares for the sick and elderly in his work in senior housing. He is co-leader of the St. Joseph Radio LIFE Runners Chapter. He and his wife Beth have three children and live n St. Charles, MO.

Faith Quote: “This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed,
breaking every yoke; Sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; Clothing the naked when you see them,
and not turning your back on your own.” ~ Is 58: 6-7
