26 Jan Who’s Will Are You Doing? (Mk 3:34-35) by Sara Beaner
“And looking around at those seated in the circle he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.'” ~ Mk 3:34-35 (full readings)

Sara’s Reflections: Have you ever asked your own child/children, or your own grandchild, or maybe even your own niece or nephew to pick up their toys? Or maybe not their toys but asked them to share what they had with someone and they refused to do it? How did that make you feel when they did their way over yours? How does it make you feel when they do what you ask of them? Have you ever been asked by God to maybe help someone change a tire, knowing that that could make you late to get somewhere? Or Maybe He asked you to let someone in front who has his/her hands full in the long checkout line. Do you do God’s will or do you want your own way? In today’s Gospel Jesus is telling us how much He loves us. That we truly become and belong to Him as His brothers, His sisters, His mother, and His family, if we surrender our will completely and do God’s will. We are to give love and mercy to all people like He does to us. How many times does God ask us to do His will for Him as LIFE Runners, Pro-Lifers, and Christians? Do we do it? Or do we refuse and do our own will in saving lives and soul for our pride, our power, and our prestige? Or do we surrender our whole selves to God’s will completely, doing it for His Glory? When we desire and do God’s will with everything we do, we then can truly be called His brother, His sister, His mother, and His faithful blue, prayerful, warriors.
