Welcome God now with this LIFE Group Devotion(FB), provided by LIFE Runners (FB). LeadersGuest Authorspraying PP

“Blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you.  For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” ~ Lk 14:14 (full readings)

Rich’s Reflections:   The Pro-Life movement is often a thankless mission; sidewalk counseling, mentoring, volunteering.  Sometimes the only response you receive after hours of peaceful prayer for the unborn is a disruptive honking horn of disapproval followed by a middle finger.  However, knowing that you are helping God convert hearts and potentially saving a human life is priceless.  I find the fellowship of other Life Defenders encouraging and it keeps me motivated.  I know that people who are outraged at our peaceful protest are most likely those who have been directly affected by abortion and have yet to be healed.  They become the focus of our prayers.  As far as Jesus is concerned, thankless jobs are the best because we will not get repaid.  This helps to make sure that we remain humble and have the right intentions with our service to the unborn.

Faith Challenge:  Look for situations in which you can serve the Lord without repayment.  This guards against the temptation to live and work for payment rather than for pure love.
