woe to you
“And he said, ‘Woe also to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them.'” ~ Lk 11:46 (full readings)

Sara’s Reflections:  How many of us like to eat fresh fruits and veggies? So do I. Some of us will grow our own garden and can or freeze our food. How many of us feel reassured to know that we can go to the store and pretty much get anything we want to eat there? In our busy lives, do we ever take the time to think or care about our neighbors who helped pick the food, or can the food for us to eat, or helped make the clothes for us to wear and probably got paid very little for all their hard work? Some of us might think I would never do that work and get paid that little. But what happens when your government imposed that on you?  In today’s Gospel, Jesus is saying, “Woe to us” all for allowing our President, our government, our Senators, and our Congress for legalizing and imposing the law of murdering innocent babies while they are in their mother’s womb and the selling of their body parts so the adults, instead of protecting them, can do with whatever they want to do with their, lungs, hearts, etc. The people who made these laws would not want their own lives destroyed in this way. “Woe to us” Christians, Pro-Lifers, and LIFE Runners if we say to our neighbors you should be teaming up and speaking up, wear your LR blue out in public, and go pray at the abortion facility, be apart of 40 Days for Life, praying and fasting for 40 Days for Life, etc. Are you willing to pray and fast for 40 Days for Life or wear your LIFE Runner blue in public or speak up to family, friends, coworkers, people you meet about murdering God’s beautifully and wonderfully made babies is wrong? Jesus is telling us we cannot impose things on our neighbors that are hard for them to carry out if we are not willing to carry it out or do it ourselves. How can we ask other people to be a faithful Blue Life Warrior for God and His babies if we are not willing to do it ourselves? Jesus carried His cross with our burdens we imposed on Him. He asks of us every day to carry our cross. But do we lift a finger to carry our cross that He will make light for us if we let Him?

Faith Quote:
“He has chosen you for Himself, to be His love and His light in the world. The simplest way of becoming His light is by being kind and loving, thoughtful, and sincere with others; By this they will know that you are His disciples.” ~ St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
